Biography

Aleksandra is Croatian contemporary abstract artist. Presently working and living in Pula and Zagreb.

Education Associate in applied science, 2000, Gibbs collage, Boston, USA

She draws inspiration from nature and emotioon. Her artistic experience began in Boston, USA, where she emigrated in 1998. Worked as Adjunct Instructor at K. Gibbs Collage, Boston, and Assistant Graphic designer, Needam. After returning to Europe working more than 10 years on her Digital art production, using her own photographs. Over the years she has captured huge collection of photos from different places, Urban parks, surrounding areas, travels, resting areas studied the Nature in its harmonious beauty. All her works were archived, the digital portfolio and art prints are available on demand.

The main topics of her paintings she has found examined the Natural phenomena.

Seascapes - Sequences of the sea, Meditative Imagined Landscape, Scene’s imagery and paintings inspired by Music.

In 2019 as she was granted by the European fund for The Innovation in Visual Art, which was directed to support the young entrepreneurs. Aleksandra is presently running her own art business in, Pula, Croatia.

Artist Statement

My journey into Abstract paintings began in 2008 with the strong passion for self-exploring my inner insights and become throughout the years the way of discovering my deepest emotiotis and feelings. The first Intuitive painting I created in 2008 titled Female figure, Liberation, I drew a beautiful woman figure, using the so􀅌 pastels. I still remember that day, my feelings, and excitement when the work was completed. I have had a feeling of being a sculptor. Drawing with fingers and intuitively I felt that already have been familiar with the process of creation. From that moment I knew that this was my discovery and the way how I want to paint, Intui􀆟ve paintings that led me to become an abstract painter. Abstract painting enabling me to experiment, freely communicate with my inner space of emotions and sensations. My preferred tools and techniques involve a palette knife, brushes, and depends on my inspiration, sometimes I use different unexpected tools to help me to create special effects and textures. I do not do planning, or sketching, my artistic process is totally intuitive and during the process I am free for changing the direction of paintings according to the moment of accident happened. The ability of prediction is not possible, but we must be open to it. What I mean by the accident? It’s just the sign and when it has appeared we start to follow. Per example, I am painting the first layer and gesso mixing with a little bit of one color, while working on canvas suddenly it happened to be seen contours, very any lines, the parts of some forms, actually become the guidance for my work.
